Hi,
We have a few users who need to be able to merge accounts, and I understand that part of a merge is that the losing account gets deleted by SLX during the merge, so the user performing the merge needs the Delete Account / Delete Contact permissions. Is there a simple way to allow them to merge accounts and contacts, but disable the Delete menu and right click options from the Accounts and Contacts?

Hi,
One option you do have (without customising the system) is to allow the users access to the Check For Duplicates functionality under Tools | Maintenance. That way, they can still merge Accounts and Contacts even though they do not have access to delete Accounts and Contacts. However, you would need to ensure the Account and Contact names match first to be picked up by the Duplicate Checker. You can obviously just update the names to match before running the check on your group before merging.
Not ideal, but an option for you.
