Business Exchange?

The BP Newsgroups had an area called Business Exchange that does not seem to have made it to the new environment.

I am hoping that this is not an indicator that we are all supposed to become non-profit companies :smileywink:

Re: Business Exchange?

Yep, we need an area for "commercial" purposes just like we have had for 10 years (or so).

Re: Business Exchange?

Hi wshpuntoff,

The Business Exchange area is still up and running in the BP newsgroups.  No changes there.

Thanks,

Are people still using those? I've not checked those since these forums went live. I am guessing from your comment they are still live and in use.

Can't we just shut those down so we only have one place to worry about?

Re: Business Exchange?

That sounds like a "No" to me.

It's kind of like this:

You (Sage) wants us to use the "Sage message boards" so you guys can stay on top of things and can build a community.

In the process, you are making our older tools for this irrelevant - After all, when Ryan stops posting on your site that means you don't exist any more :smileywink:

So... when I ask about the business exchange, I find myself interpreting your response as

 1. Sage has no interest in this being part of THEIR community

 2. We only want you to post in an area that nobody looks any more.

So... Attempt #2

Why is there not a Business Exchange area.... as well as a Public 3rd party forum?

Just remember - people only complain when they care about something.

It's when we all go silent that you need to worry.

Re: Business Exchange?

Walter raises very valid key points.

As much as a lot us find the "old" NG's the easiest way to communicate/navigate/locate info - the "community" forums are what Sage is promoting/endorsing/supporting going forward. In fact, activity is so low in the NG's that I only login and look at them once a week. What few posts I make carry a not in the signature basically saying...  the NG is dead.. go and post in the community.

As partners, we need a "like for like" capability in the community that we had in the NG's including:

   a - a generic 3rd party forum (Partners & Sage)

   b - a "business" forum (Partners & Sage)

Re: Business Exchange?

However, we do need to get the older knowledge out of the NG before it is officially killed off.  There is a lot of valuable stuff for older releases (which all of us have installed somewhere) that will never have any need to be updated, but is still needed from time to time.

Re: Business Exchange?

Thanks for you passion around this topic.  We have been discussing this need as well, and will work on providing you a forum.  Stay tuned for timing...
