Re: Do you have questions or comments about the community?

As we previously discussed.. the "threading" is backwards. The newest is at the top so you completely loose the whole purpose of "threading".

Can you please switch it back to "normal" order?

Re: Do you have questions or comments about the community?

RJL,

The threading seems to be correct to me.  If you click on Board Options you can have it sort by thread start date or last post date.  I have mine set at Thread Start Date and the newest threads are at the top with the subsequent posts in newest to oldest order.  Are you seeing something different?

Re: Do you have questions or comments about the community?

I see it now.. and my sort is now the way a "normal" NG thread works.. in chronological order from oldest to newest.. that way I see the thread as it "develops"

Where do I find Board Options at?  I have modified the settings under my profile, but if there is an easier way< i am all for that!

Re: Do you have questions or comments about the community?

I appreciate your feedback regarding the community structure and understand why many of you prefer the Newsgroup format.  Our community software does not have NNTP support, and I have not found a viable solution to bring you the best of both worlds--Yet!  I am hopeful that as online communities mature, the features you rely on will become standard.

I put together a quick video to help you learn about the different message viewing options you can select in your preference settings.  And, I added a couple of tips on navigation for quick access to the latest post.  This video was a quick creation, and therefore is not the highest level of quality.  Please forgive me.

I hope you find this information helpful.   Please continue to share your thoughts on the community, as we want you to enjoy the time you spend with us!
Thanks again.

Re: Do you have questions or comments about the community?

If you are looking at a board you should see a board options button/menu below the search section.

Also, Kim just posted a video on how to configure the boards.

Re: Do you have questions or comments about the community?

Under the search, I have a Thread Options, but nothing that would allow me to change the layout.  I will take a look at Kim's video and maybe that will help me out.

Thanks!

Jim

Re: Do you have questions or comments about the community?

Jim, you are one level too deep.  Go up to the board which lists all the threads.  You will see the Board Options there.  Once in a thread, the options button becomes specific to the thread.

Re: Do you have questions or comments about the community?

Gotcha.  I looked at the thread level and the Top level, but never thought about the intermediate level.  I am good to go....

Jim, All those folks who said you could not teach an old dog new tricks have been proven incorrect! ;-)
