A customer recently upgraded from 6.2.6 to 7.5.1. One user noticed that he could no longer create a new Opportunity by holding down Shift-Insert, and that this key shortcut did not appear in the menu. I opened up Standard Menu in Architect and saw that the Shift+Ins did indeed appear in the Shortcut property in the Menu item. Shortcuts for other items do appear in the menu and do function.
I checked this menu item in a couple of other 7.5.1 sustems I have access to and the Shift-Insert shortcut does appear and does function. What might be going on here? This customer runs SLX on a Citrix Presentation Server though I doubt this is related.
I knew it - there was a custom menu containing Insert Opportunity with no shortcut that was set for "Replace." When you have several people doing lots of customizations to a system over several years that sort of thing can happen.
