RAS is "nasty".. Worst of all from a security point of view. It's also terrible from a performance view as well. The user experience on sync times is very bad when there are a lot of TEFS (and/or attachments).
We never install a RAS setup any more. In fact, I do not even tell the customer there is a "ras option". We lead w/http and then tell them that adding an SSL certificate they can get https - can't get any better.
I'd like to see the RAS option just stripped from the product like the email version of sync was.
