Not sure what you mean by Step 1 but if it is create the view then I do not believe these steps work.
When you apply the bundle to a system that has never had the SQL View then the RESYNCTABLEDEFS will not be created on the new system and will not be created when cutting remotes.
As far as Entity Views I have tried these steps in 7.5.1 (actually worked with Jason Huebner with this) and it does not work....
