Automatic Creation of a Dynamic Group from an existing group with added filters

Status: New Idea

The standard query builder when you add a new group is quite daunting for most standard users and finding the relevant fields can be quite difficult if you don't know the database structure - e.g. seccodeID field gives no clue that it is actually the owner field.

in 7.5.3 web client - filtering is a great way of getting to the data you need quickly and easily without having to build a query. However once you have filtered the data you can create a group but it is a static group and not dynamic.

I think a great way of building simple dynamic groups very quickly and easily (without having to use query builder) would be to have another common task option called Save records as a dynamic  group. This option, would create a new group with the existing group conditions plus the new conditions you have applied with the filter automatically to the conditions of the query.

This would free up administrators from having to create simple groups for users who are not comfortable with the create groups function (which is most of the users in our organisation).

We have customers ask if this can be ALL the time. Would be a much appreciated enhancement.

This would be extremely helpful.  We just converted from LAN to web and I was excited, as the Admin, to see this option, and then disappointed to see that it was creating a static group.
