With more and more companies moving towards externally hosted solutions for their email, Sage should look at creating a more robust solution to allow for integration with SalesLogix and an externally hosted email solution, such as Google Mail.
The current out-dated SalesLogix Mail Client does not allow SSL encryption that is required by most externally hosted mail solutions. The idea here is to not have an externally hosted back end with a familiar "outlook-esque" front end, but rather to embrace the functionality that an externally host solution gives its users without having to pigeonhole the user in a UI that is weak and has limited functionality.
I would love to see where Sage stands in this area. Its been 5 months now and no word, not a peep, from Sage as to what their plan is for externally hosted email solutions.
Its great to post ideas in Idealogix, but more clarity and communication from the other side of the fence would be nice.
Integration w/hosted email solutions just cannot be ignored. Every day you either read or hear of more and more companies dropping their in-house email systems (typically Exchange because of the high costs in hardware, licenses, and maintenance/support) in favor of solutions like Gmail.
We need to be able to have both platforms (LAN/Web on premise or hosted) be able to integrate w/any 3rd party email system "in the cloud".
